Milan Authorities Convene Following Recent Urban Unrest

Following a wave of violent clashes in Milan, local and national authorities held an emergency summit at the Prefecture to coordinate security measures. The meeting addressed the recent surge in public disorder, which has drawn national attention due to the involvement of a significant number of minors.

Heightened Security for Upcoming Weekend

Milan Mayor Giuseppe Sala described the upcoming Saturday as a "delicate day," emphasizing the need for increased vigilance. In response to the unrest, Sala expressed support for the deployment of military personnel to assist law enforcement in maintaining order across the city. The Mayor underscored that the current priority is a combination of strict control and repression to prevent further escalation.

As judicial proceedings move forward, authorities have confirmed the validation of the first 11 arrests. Investigations remain ongoing to determine the full extent of the involvement of the 35 minors currently under scrutiny, as officials work to restore stability to the city streets.
