Campania and Puglia Industrial Associations Warn of Collapse Amid Trucker Protests

Industrial associations in Campania and Puglia have issued an urgent joint warning stating that regional businesses are facing economic collapse due to ongoing transport strikes. The groups—representing the unione industriali of Naples alongside the other four provinces of Campania and Confindustria Bari and Barletta-Andria-Trani—demanded immediate action from authorities to address supply chain disruptions.

The prolonged blockades have severely impacted commercial supply lines, leaving supermarket shelves partially empty in southern provinces such as Naples and Caserta, as well as parts of Molise and Lazio. Fresh produce, particularly fruit and vegetables, remains scarce in many areas, prompting widespread concern from business associations and trade federations over the sustainability of consumer supplies and regional manufacturing output.
