Ukraine's Military Operations Resume with Starlink at Normal Speed
Ukraine's Ministry of Defence has announced that the Starlink satellite system, owned by Elon Musk's SpaceX, is now operating at normal speeds after restrictions disrupted military operations. The system, which includes the military version Starshield, was affected by the limitations, causing problems for Ukraine's military to intercept Russian attack drones and forcing the cancellation of some operations.
The restrictions, which were reportedly ordered from inside the White House, were imposed after US President Donald Trump announced a deal to buy Russian diesel and asked Kyiv to stop striking Russian oil refineries. Ukraine's military relies on Starlink for frontline communications and Starshield for military operations in occupied territories.
According to the Ministry of Defence, connectivity remains stable at speeds exceeding 400km per hour. However, it is unclear whether service has been fully restored. The Ukrainian military does not disclose the systems' maximum operating speeds.
