ECP Proposes AI Labels for Election Coverage

In a move aimed at safeguarding the integrity of Pakistan’s upcoming elections, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has released a draft proposal that would require all news outlets and social media influencers to explicitly label any content altered by artificial intelligence (AI). The proposal also keeps media houses legally responsible for the factual accuracy of AI‑generated material.
