Israeli Police Arrest 10 Following West Bank Settler Attacks on Diplomats and Journalist

Israeli police announced on Monday that they have arrested 10 individuals following a weekend surge of settler violence in the occupied West Bank. The wave of unrest included direct attacks against European diplomats and a foreign journalist during regional olive harvesting activities.

The arrests stem from incidents over the weekend that drew international condemnation. Among those targeted were a Washington Post photographer, who was reportedly beaten, and several European diplomatic officials visiting the area. The assaults prompted widespread calls for accountability and renewed scrutiny over security in the West Bank.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu subsequently warned of a campaign to smear Israel following the diplomatic fallout, even as various reports detailed the confrontations between settlers, Palestinians, and international observers.
