Kim Jong-un Crosses New Yalu River Bridge in Rare Trip to China

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has arrived in the Chinese border city of Dandong, marking his first confirmed international travel in over a year. South Korean officials reported that the leader reached the Liaoning province destination via a train journey that originated in Pyongyang.

A New Gateway for Diplomacy

The transit was facilitated by the newly opened New Yalu River Bridge, a significant piece of infrastructure connecting Sinuiju, North Korea, to Dandong, China. According to government sources cited by the Yonhap news agency, the train traveled from the North Korean capital to the border city of Sinuiju before crossing the bridge into Chinese territory.
