Met Police boss on Brand allegations
The Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Sir Mark Rowley, has expressed his thoughts on the recent allegations made against comedian Russell Brand.
Speaking to the BBC, Sir Mark Rowley stated that he wouldn't be surprised if more allegations were made against the comedian. This comes after Brand was recently involved in a trial where he was accused of rape and sexual assault.
The allegations made during the trial reportedly included claims that Brand had used his fame and influence to manipulate and control his victims. Sir Mark Rowley has stated that what he heard reported from the trial came close to "victim blaming", implying that the focus was on the victims' behavior rather than the actions of the accused.
The Met Police Commissioner's comments suggest that he is aware of the potential for further allegations to be made against Brand, but it is unclear at this time whether any new investigations will be launched.
