ABUJA — Nigeria has confirmed an Ebola virus case in its capital city, Abuja, after a female traveler who arrived from Uganda tested positive for the disease.
The development marks the latest expansion of an ongoing regional outbreak. Earlier this month, Kenya reported its first infection and has since documented a total of nine cases as the virus spreads across parts of the continent.
Health authorities are actively monitoring the situation and tracing contacts following the confirmation in Abuja. Further updates are expected as response teams manage the newly reported infection.
