Two schools in Gloucester were placed into lockdown on Thursday morning following an altercation outside St Peter's High School that left one boy in the hospital with minor injuries. Gloucestershire Police reported that the incident, which occurred at approximately 08:50 GMT on Chalford Road, involved a male seen carrying a "long-bladed item."
Armed officers responded to the scene and are actively searching for a group of individuals who fled the area. St Peter's High School and the nearby Willow Primary Academy instituted lockdowns to ensure safety, with police urging parents to stay away from the premises while the operation continued.
Authorities confirmed that pupils remained safe within the school grounds and emphasized that there was no ongoing threat at the schools. Police stated that no other injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.
