Australia v South Africa LIVE: Aussies stare down a humiliating defeat after another batting collapse in Cape Town

In Cape Town, the series-deciding Test between Australia and South Africa entered its final day with the hosts staring down the barrel of a humiliating defeat after yet another batting collapse unraveled their position.

Chasing a target that looked increasingly unlikely, Australia’s batsmen once again failed to apply meaningful resistance, leaving the team in danger of surrendering the three-Test series at the Wanderers after a dominant start from South Africa’s pace attack.

The collapse echoed familiar frustrations for the visitors, who have struggled throughout the tour to convert starts into substantial scores against a South African side buoyed by home conditions and relentless pressure.

With wickets tumbling at regular intervals on day five, Australia’s hopes of salvaging the series hung by a thread as South Africa’s bowlers maintained their relentless assault on the stumps.
