SINGAPORE — Wong Kirk Chuan is set to assume the role of Chief Executive Officer at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) and Yishun Community Hospital (YCH) starting February 1. According to an NHG Health announcement on November 2, Wong will take over leadership from current CEO Chua Hong Choon.
Wong previously served as the chief operating officer for KTPH and YCH and was appointed CEO-designate on November 1. With over two decades of experience in Singapore's public healthcare system, his background includes leadership roles such as deputy CEO of the Agency for Integrated Care and COO of Population Health at NHG Health. He is particularly recognized for overseeing the development and commissioning of Woodlands Hospital beginning in 2014 and managing large-scale national community isolation and care facilities during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Outgoing CEO Chua Hong Choon will step down from his current hospital leadership position to serve as dean of the NHG College. He will also maintain his clinical practice as a senior consultant in psychiatry at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH). NHG Health Group CEO Joe Sim acknowledged Chua's contributions to patient care, staff wellbeing, and healthcare worker safety initiatives across the sector.
